Programs are the heart of AdoraPlan. Each program represents a single service (e.g., “Sunday Morning Worship – March 2”). The Service Order Editor lets you build the full order of service with songs, activities, timing, and team assignments.

Quick Start

  1. Click Create Service from the Dashboard or navigate to Programs in the sidebar.
  2. Click New Program and choose a creation method.
  3. Fill in the service type, date, and time.
  4. Add songs and activities to the service order.
  5. Drag items to reorder. Click Save.

Create a Program with the Wizard

Open the Wizard

Navigate to Programs and click New Program.

Choose a Creation Method

  • Templates — Start from a saved service order template
  • Recent Services — Duplicate a recent program as a starting point
  • Custom — Build from scratch
  • Community — Browse approved templates shared by other churches (submitted templates go through a moderation review before becoming available)

Set the Details

Select a Service Type and set the Date and Time.

Open the Editor

Click Create. The Service Order Editor opens.

Add Songs

Click Add Song to search and select from your Hymn Library.

Add Activities

Click Add Activity to insert non-song items (Welcome, Offering, Sermon). Choose from the activity type catalog.

Set Durations

Set the duration for each item (used for timeline calculation).

Reorder

Drag and drop items to reorder the service flow.

Save

Click Save (or Ctrl+S) to preserve your changes.

Use Parallel Groups

Use parallel groups for activities that happen simultaneously (e.g., offertory music + collection):
  1. Select two or more items that happen at the same time.
  2. Click Group as Parallel or drag one item onto another.
  3. Parallel items display side-by-side in the Timeline view.
  4. The group duration equals the longest item (non-additive).

Use the Timeline View

  1. Toggle to Timeline view using the tab at the top of the editor.
  2. Each item appears as a time block with calculated start and end times.
  3. Parallel groups stack horizontally.
  4. Use the Timeline Summary at the bottom for total service duration.

Finalize and Share

Review the Progress Bar

The progress bar at the top tracks completion of required fields.

Finalize

Click Finalize to publish the program. This triggers notifications to assigned team members.

Share or Export

Click Share to generate a shareable link or export to PDF/print.

Pro-Tips

Save frequently-used orders as templates. After building a program, click Save as Template to reuse the same structure next week.
Check the progress bar before finalizing — it highlights missing assignments or incomplete fields.
Keyboard shortcuts in the editor: Ctrl+S to save, Delete to remove selected item.
Privacy safeguard: When you share a template to the community, team assignments, church details, and internal IDs are automatically stripped. Other churches receive only the service order structure.
